Chenin Blanc

Freestyle Blanc
A range that follows its own path
We called it "Figure Libre" because we have chosen the freedom of creation and expression, combining the subtleness of the Loire with the bold character of the Languedoc. Away from the rigours of the appellation, in 2004 we planted the grape varieties which we felt would be the best suited, those most able to reveal the expression and the qualities of our Brugairolles sandstone terroir. Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc, rarely grown in the region, originate from the Loire Valley, home of Winemaker Vincent Chansault.

Tasting Notes:

Golden colour with reflections of green. A nose that is both floral and fruity gives great complexity, freshness and minerality. Well balanced with a purity of fruit enhanced by its roundness and length. A pleasantly fresh finish.

Vinification process:

Harvested in 2 times (with 10% Noble Rot) - Slow and long pressing - Gentle racking - Fermentation in concrete egg fermenters.

“Very mild and bright fruited. Some pear but masses of acidity. Quite complex. Very youthful. Very gastronomic.” Jancis Robinson 16+/20

At 200m altitude on sandstone in Brugairolles.

In concrete egg fermenter and 500L barrels.

No racking off after fermentation. Light sulphur addition 1 month after fermentation. According to the golden number the egg shape keeps the wine in perpetual movement creating roundness while preserving the purity of fruit and freshness. Racking off 2 weeks prior to bottling for settling.
